Where to park in Bibury

If you are visiting Bibury for the first time then you may be wondering where you can park your car while you visit this beautiful village in the Cotswolds.

There is a limited amount of free roadside parking available on "The Street", and Bibury Trout Farm has a car park on Ablibgton Lane (charges apply). The small free parking area opposite Bibury Trout Farm has been cordorned off.

As part of a thorough road safety assessment and in response to valuable community input, Gloucestershire County Council temporarily closed the current coach parking bays in the village centre starting Friday, 23 May. To enhance safety, passenger drop-offs and pick-ups instead take place at designated public bus stops, reducing the risk associated with unsafe coach movements.

Out of season, visitors to Bibury generally won't have any trouble finding a place to park. The village is quieter during the autumn, winter, and early spring months, and spaces are usually available throughout the day without any significant wait. However, during the height of the tourist season - particularly on sunny weekends, bank holidays, and throughout the summer - parking can become more challenging.

At peak times, you may need to wait for a space to become available. Bibury is extremely popular with day-trippers, coach tours, and international visitors, and it features prominently on many Cotswolds travel itineraries. If you're planning a visit during busy periods, it's best to arrive early or consider alternative transport options where possible. Patience is key - the beauty of Bibury is well worth the wait!
